Hello World!
Is that a little too generic? Maybe it is! I'm just excited. I've never coded before, so this is all new to me! I grew up with what's now called the "old internet", browsing websites just like the ones people are making here on neocities. So being able to finally make one myself, or rather, finally building up the confidence to try is something I'm really excited about!
Where I am in the world, there's a lot going on with the internet and freedoms browsing it at the moment. It's kind of a bummer. Though it really made me realize how much I long for the days of having my own space on the internet not controlled by the algorithms, ads pushed in people's faces, not worrying about how many views whatever I post will get. So I got inspired. And now here I am. It's basic and simple and honestly not great but I'm proud for trying and I hope to keep trying.
My main plan is to just post whatever I want, really. The kind of things I would otherwise have posted on social media. Blog posts, rants, collection pick ups, gushing about whatever game I'm playing or whatever show I'm watching... Honestly the sky is the limit and the feeling of liberation that's giving me is both exciting and a little daunting.
